Getting Rid of Dirt and Dust in Your Home

A home cleaning business can assist with just about every room in your home, including your living room, dining area, or family room. Even a maid service will take care of those simple spots to forget about when we're all clean cleaning up. These include dusting and wiping your cupboards, light switches, baseboards, and especially your windows.

You can even do your own spotless home cleaning! Just remember to wipe down your counters and tables after each meal, which means you'll be removing just a few crumbs here and there. Use your vacuum cleaner to pick up any crumbs or pet hair. You can also use a mop on your dining area. When you have your drapes and carpets spotless, your floors should appear as if you had no work for an entire week!

Window blinds can make your home look spic and span, but they can also be difficult to keep clean. Instead of renting a professional cleaning service for your window blinds, let us do it for you! We'll give you a few tips to help you keep your blinds spotless. You'll want to first consider the type of blinds and curtains you have; we recommend you choose shades made from heavy-duty fabric like storm or blackout fabric.

Let's start with your scrubbing. Before you start scrubbing, you'll want to gather your professional cleaning tools. A mop, a soft brush, a squeegee, a cloth, a couple of rubber bands, a mop bucket, water, dish detergent, a sponge, a soft cloth, and a soft drying towel. Let's not forget your vacuum cleaner! You'll be needing these to take out crumbs, so make sure your curtains are completely open.

The first thing you'll do is vacuum up any crumbs or dirt on your floor or furniture. If there are marks on your surfaces, try using a metal scraper to scrape them off. If you have marks on your surfaces, but the dirt is still sitting on top of your flooring, try using your vacuum cleaner's backwash feature. This will push all the dirt and dust right down into the back of the cleaner, keeping it from flying around your room and onto your carpet or hardwood floors. Using the backwash feature also helps to keep dirt from getting completely embedded in the fibers of your carpet.

Next, dab your cloth over your windows and take a quick swab of your damp towel across your carpets and floors. This will get any loose dirt or dust out of your blinds or drapes. If you have a lot of dust, use a vacuum cleaner with an attachment that can pick up the dust. For your blinds, if you want to remove the whole blind from your window, you can use a special tool that will pull it all out. Just make sure to check for nails and staples first.

If you have a window in your kitchen, you should check your stove, oven, dishwasher, and other appliances to see if they are all fully cleaned up. Make sure to check your indoor air quality as well. If your heating system has been running for awhile, you may have some condensation building up in the ducts. This can cause quite a bit of allergy-inducing issues, including asthma attacks. By removing this water-carrying humidity from your home, you'll be much safer and less likely to have problems.

Finally, don't overlook the outdoor areas like porches and patios. Remove any grass clippings, leaves, or other dirt that may have gathered and blown into your living spaces. Use your garden hose to clean out these areas, which can be done easily by a professional cleaning service. Once you have your outdoor areas completely free of dirt and dust, you'll be better able to breathe without worrying about the air inside your home being contaminated.
